Looking for hydroseeding in Bend, Redmond
or La Pine?
Aspen provides quality hydroseeding for Central Oregon.
What is hydroseeding?
Also called "hydraulic mulch seeding", "hydro-mulching" or "hydraseeding", it's a planting process whereby a slurry composed of mulch, seed and water is broadcast over an area that might otherwise be planted with dry seed. The slurry is usually transported in a large tank via truck. Often containing fertilizer and/or tackifying agents, the mulch in the mixture helps maintain moisture around the seeds, and can promote faster germination.
Benefits of Hydroseeding
- Can be a more cost-effective way to plant a lawn, when compared to sod or seed planting.
- Prevents soil erosion
- A great solution for areas too large, or inaccessible for conventional planting methods — such as golf courses and commercial sites (highways/motorways)
- Can be used to plant a variety of species, including wild flowers, trees and shrubs
Getting Back to 'Normal'
An added benefit of hydroseeding, and one that we focus on at Aspen, is the restoration of native plant species. This can be used to speed up the process of getting our Central Oregon landscape back to its natural state. Native flowers, grasses and shrubs can all be effectively reestablished in this way.
